This is a wonderful Rolex 5512 Submariner with the rarer pointed crown guards from 1961 which also has its original 'gilt' dial with 'exclamation dot' and oyster riveted stretch bracelet with correct '557' ends.
This exceptional watch further benefits from having had a sensitive but complete service at Rolex in 2014.
To find a watch of this age with the pointed crown guard case supplied with its original box as well makes for an extremely compelling package.
The 'gilt' dial Rolex submariners are chased by collectors from all over the world and were manufactured from the early 1960's and feature a 'glossy finish' on the dial which develops into a wonderful and unique patina.
This Rolex 5512 also features just 2 lines of txt whereas the later versions had four lines and a connected minute track around the outside.
A very special watch indeed.
